(JASPER) - A $26 million project will bring restaurants, apartments, and a hotel to downtown Jasper.
River Centre will take the place of the Jasper Cabinet building on Mill Street near the train depot.
Boxer Girl LLC will redevelop the site.
The project will provide 75 one and two bedroom apartments with 36,000 square feet of commercial space.
It could generate more than $300,000 in taxes for the city each year.
Even those who worked closely on the project were blown away by Wednesday's presentation.
"You could see the crowd get excited right away too," said John Ball, President of the Redevelopment Commission.
"I don't think anybody could dream of something that nice down there. Knowing what we lived with for years there and to see something that exciting in the downtown and riverfront area, it's amazing."
Officials say construction will begin around the end of 2017.
