(INDIANAPOLIS) - A 46-year-old Indianapolis man has been sentenced for his part in an escapade that involved stealing an ambulance and leading police on a chase that ended in a waffle house parking lot.
WISH-TV reports Kenneth Pope was sentenced to nearly two and a half years in prison for auto theft and resisting arrest. He tried to kick and bite officers as they apprehended him in the June 13 incident.
Court documents show Pope was a robbery suspect who was being evaluated by medical personnel. Authorities say he stole the ambulance after the driver left the wheel to check on him. Pope pleaded guilty to auto theft and resisting law enforcement.
