(UNDATED) - President Obama has designated October as National Cyber Security Awareness Month to engage and educate the public on how to be safe when online.
The initiative began in 2010 as the campaign "Stop. Think. Connect" as a national public awareness initiative through partnerships with federal, state and local government agencies, as well as the private and non-profit organizations to provide tips on how to protect yourself from growing cyber threats.
The Department of Homeland Security has a schedule of themes and events during the month of October, offering a plethora of information regarding cyber safety tips and information.
