(FORT WAYNE) - The attorney for a pilot who left the scene of a weekend plane crash in Fort Wayne says his client was injured in that crash and is being treated at an undisclosed location.
Attorney Michael Loomis didn't explain why Jeffrey Mills walked away from the wreckage of his Cessna 150-F after its engine failed early Saturday. The aircraft crashed upside down after striking trees, a power line and the roof of a home near Smith Field Airport.
Mills' passenger was treated for minor injuries at a hospital.
Loomis tells The Journal Gazette Mills was also injured and he's being treated at a location he wouldn't disclose.
He says Mills has been struggling with the deaths within three years of two of his brothers and is "just overwhelmed with grief."
