(HAMMOND) - When a replica of Abraham Lincoln’s Funeral Train visited Hammond earlier this year, it brought nearly 8,000 visitors. Now, some northern Indiana residents are proposing a museum be built to possibly house the traveling exhibit.
A spokeswoman for the Lincoln Funeral Train said that the train will need a home after it completes a tour of the nation next year.
Officials from the communities of Whiting, Crown Point, Hammond and Griffith have all expressed interest in giving the train a future home.
