(SPENCER CO.) - The name of the man who died after a house fire in Spencer County has been released following an autopsy.
The Spencer County coroner ruled the cause of death of 43-year-old Paul David Leslie to be smoke inhalation.
The fire happened around 3 on Friday morning in the 1000 block of North 900 West in Hatfield.
Neighbors tell us the family just moved into the rental home a couple of months ago. We're told there were smoke detectors in the home.
The Luce Township fire chief says the home was fully engulfed when crews arrived on scene. He says the fire could be seen from two miles away.
Paul's wife Lauren and a baby were taken to St. Mary's in Evansville. She was later flown to to the University of Louisville Hospital, where she is in stable condition.
The investigation has been handed over to the state fire marshal's office.
