(LAPORTE) - People in LaPorte had some of their holiday travel plans hampered Wednesday when a troubled man led to police closing off a bridge.
They say the man was threatening to jump off of the U.S. 35 overpass.
It took more than five hours of negotiation with police, but the man eventually backed away from the ledge and the standoff ended peacefully.
