(UNDATED) - It’s Red Kettle time. The Salvation Army kicked off its Red Kettle Christmas Fundraising Campaign Thursday.
Spokesman Mike Rowland says this year's goal is $3.5 million. He says they're trying to raise a little more than last year's $3.4 million success to keep up with growing community need.
Rowland says this year, there will be about 175 kettle locations across Central Indiana.
Last year, donations paid for more than 400,000 meals and 113,000 safe nights of shelter.
