(DUBOIS CO.) - Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating an ATV accident that left three teens injured.
The accident happened at 5:15 p.m. on the Thanksgiving.
Three juveniles were on an ATV riding on Harts Gravel Road near Birdseye. According to the teens, a red truck drove up from behind them and struck the ATV. The vehicle then left the scene of the accident.
The driver of the ATV 19-year-old Maurice Campbell - Brown, of Owensboro (KY), lost control and the ATV rolled down an embankment. Brown and his passengers 13-year-old Hunter Mendoza, of Jasper and 12-year-old Catalina Mendoza, of Birdseye, were thrown from the ATV.
All three suffered non-life threatening injuries and were transported to Memorial Hospital in Jasper for treatment..
According to police, the teens were not wearing protective gear.
Responding agencies included the Dubois County Sheriffs Department, Birdseye Fire Department, Memorial Ambulance Service and Indiana Conservation Officers.
