(PENDLETON) - An inmate who escaped from the Pendleton Reformatory Sunday night has been captured.
28-year-old Charles Adams was caught Monday evening in Angola, Indiana.
A DOC spokesperson told Eyewitness News that Adams crawled out of a window in a dorm at the Pendleton Reformatory. While part of the Pendleton facility, the dorm is minimum security housing outside the walled area of the maximum security penitentiary.
An extensive search involving Madison County Sheriff's deputies, Pendleton police and Indiana State Police troopers led to Adams' capture. Adams was incarcerated for theft and receiving stolen property. He was due for release next October, according to the DOC.
