(JEFFERSONVILLE) - A 19-year-old southern Indiana man has been charged with reckless homicide in a highway crash that killed a passenger.
Austin Porter of Jeffersonville appeared Wednesday before a Clark County judge who entered a not guilty plea on his behalf. Porter also faces charges of operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs and other charges.
The News and Tribune reports that witnesses told police that they saw Porter driving at a high rate of speed, passing traffic and switching lanes before his car flipped onto its side and crashed February 17 along Interstate 265 in Clark County.
An 18-year-old man who was a passenger in the car was killed.
