(TAYLORSVILLE) - A man is facing several charges after Christmas Eve police chase in Bartholomew County.
Deputies were called out around 5 p.m. to US 31 near Taylorsville to handle a civil matter.
They started to walk up to two vehicles that were pulling out onto US 31. One driver backed away.
Deputies say the other driver gave them a fake name and then drove off.
They chased him until he got out of the vehicle and ran away.
Other law enforcement and a K-9 unit joined the search.
The K-9 found the man hiding in car in a locked garage. Deputies say he had a dagger with him.
In addition to two previous felony warrants, 43-year-old Billy Ray Denson of Taylorsville is facing new charges including operating a vehicle with a lifetime suspension and resisting law enforcement with a vehicle.
Denson is in the Bartholomew County Jail on $57,000 bond.
