(SEYMOUR) - A storm system that continues to drop rain across south central Indiana is expected to push the East Fork White River to 17 feet at Rockford by Wednesday afternoon.
At 7:30 a.m. Sunday, the river was at 9.72 inches. That's down from Christmas Eve, when the river was at 12.43 inches from heavy rains earlier in the week. Flood stage is determined at 12.0 feet.
Anticipated rainfall of 3 to 5 inches from Saturday afternoon through Tuesday, however, is expected to push the river to 17 feet, according to the National Weather Service. A flood warning remains in effect until further notice. A flash flood watch also is in effect through this evening.
