(UNDATED) - Two new dog breeds are being recognized by the American Kennel Club — the American hairless terrier and an ancient North African hound called a sloughi.
They're now ready to run with the pack and compete in most AKC shows and competitions.
The hairless terriers are bare-skinned, but some can have very short coats.
The sloughi is known for its speed and grace.
There are now 189 AKC-recognized breeds.
