(MADISON) - Two suspects wanted in connection with a double shooting in Palmyra on Wednesday were arrested in Madison Thursday, police say.
The Madison Police Department was tipped off that both Travis Fentress and Tara Vanwinkle were in the area, according to Harrison County Sheriff's Department.
The pair was arrested Thursday afternoon. They are accused to shooting Ralph and Rebecca Thomas at the newlywed couple's home Wednesday. Both victims were taken to University Hospital. Ralph Thomas was shot in the head. His wife was shot through the shoulder and the bullet was lodged in her jaw.
Investigators believe drugs may have been involved, because both the suspects and the victims have been involved with drugs in the past.
Harrison County Sheriff's deputies transported them back to Palmyra Thursday night.
