(MUNCIE) - Students at Ball State University raised a record $610,086.23 during their overnight dance marathon in Muncie.
More than 1,400 students danced the night away while raising funds for Palliative Care Program and the Magic Castle Cart at Riley Hospital.
The organization has now raised more than $1.8 million since starting from humble beginnings as a philanthropic project for a pair of greek organizations in 2003.
Now Ball State Dance Marathon is its own separate entity, after seeing unprecedented growth in both student participation and fundraising efforts.
