(BOONE COUNTY) - You learned how to dial 9-1-1 as a kid. Now, the three digit emergency number is getting a boost.
First responders in Boone County are turning to a new system called Smart911.
The service lets you create an online profile with your phone number and personal information so when you call the police or fire department, first responders can get quick details on who is calling. The hope is that it will cut down on miscommunication during emergencies.
