(EVANSVILLE) - IceMen fans are still coming to terms with the fact their team is getting a new home.
There are only 16 home games left until the IceMen go to Owensboro.
For fan Duane Halsema, it's about much more than hockey.
Halsema, a season ticket holder and member of the Icemen Maniac Asylum, says from what he's seen, attendance hasn't really changed since the big announcement.
Halsema has been a member of the group for four years. He says the friendships he's formed are priceless.
"Got lots of friends now, through here. I've met so many nice people here. We've gotten to the point where we go do things in the summertime. It's just a good family friendly atmosphere. Lots of friends," said Halsema.
Win or lose, Halsema says these diehard hockey fans will stay in Evansville, and while they'll miss the IceMen, they've accepted they may be cheering for a new team.
"I will back a new team just like I've backed this one. I'm not going to go to Owensboro, that's not my choice. My choice is to stay right here in Evansville. This is where I live, this is what I'll support is this city," said Halsema.
The IceMen twitter page reported that more than 7,000 people attended Saturday's game.
