(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Department of Child Services is investigating after a toddler was found running down the street alone this weekend with no shoes, wearing just light clothing.
The temperature was 14 degrees outside with a wind chill of just 2.
Monday night, Roger Brown and Angela Dotson found the three-year-old boy in his bear feet near Keystone Ave. and Troy Ave running down the street screaming for his mother.
It turns out the boy had come from a few blocks away and was lost.
The toddler did have on a pair of jeans and light-weight hoodie
Brown searched the area for the boy's mother, but had no luck. He then took the boy to his home and called police.
Police say the boy wouldn't tell them his name or any other information
Police went door-to-door in the neighborhood looking for the boy's parents A few blocks north, they found them. The mother told police she thought the boy was with the father and the father thought the boy went to the store with his mother.
The boy was checked out at a local hospital. Police and Child Protective Services are investigating the incident.
