(EVANSVILLE) - Investigators are looking into the cause of an Evansville house fire.
It broke out around 10:30 Wednesday night at a home in the 900 block of West Oregon Street. A witness told our crew at the scene you could see smoke a mile away.
A family, two adults and two children, were inside when the fire started. Officials say the adults got out on their own and firefighters rescued the children.
We're told the children were taken to the hospital for possible smoke inhalation.
Firefighters were on scene until a little after 1 a.m. Thursday.
