(INDIANAPOLIS) - In the wake of recent acts of violence in several countries, the Indiana Department of Homeland Security (IDHS) reminds Hoosiers to be “Ready: Whenever. Wherever.”
Violent acts and dangerous events can occur anywhere, anytime -- often with little to no warning.
The "Ready: Whenever. Wherever." webpage on GetPrepared.in.gov has been updated with new resources, including links and fact sheets on travel safety, home protection, large event safety and workplace violence.
"The vigilance of ordinary citizens is crucial to the safety of Indiana's communities," said John Erickson, IDHS Director of Public Information. "In all situations, routine or otherwise, Hoosiers should be mindful of the people and events around them."
The "Ready: Whenever. Wherever." approach asks Hoosiers to pause and consider potential safety risks in their surroundings and to identify possible actions they could take to increase their personal safety in the event of an emergency.
