(FRANKLIN) - Johnson County officials have vowed to help addicts and target dealers after 21 people were arrested in the county’s second large drug sweep in recent months.
The Indianapolis Star reports that officials on Wednesday discussed police efforts to stop the spread of heroin, methamphetamine and marijuana in the area.
More than 20 arrest warrants for drug-related offenses were secured in the past month by the Franklin Police Department's special investigations unit. Authorities secured 50 felony arrest warrants for suspected drug dealers in September.
Officials in Johnson County plan to parcel through the suspects to identify the dealers and separate them from those who simply suffer from addiction.
