(SEHLBYVILLE) - A leading agriculture equipment company announced Thursday that it plans to move its headquarters from Memphis, Tennessee to Shelbyville, Indiana.
The company, Krone North America, says the project is expected to create up to 101 new high paying jobs by 2021. They plan to begin hiring in 2017 to fill multiple positions, including warehouse and office staff, as well as management.
Krone officials say they plan to construct a new distribution center, showroom and training facility at the intersection of Highway 44 and I-74. Company officials say they will invest $12.5 million to construct the 200,000-square-foot facility on 40 acres of undeveloped land. We're told a majority of space will be dedicated to distribution and showrooms. The facility will serve as the company's primary distribution hub and training center in North America. The new facility will also house approximately 20,000 square feet of office space to accommodate Krone's corporate headquarters team, which is expected to transition to Indiana in 2017.
Construction is expected to begin next spring.
