(LAKE STATION) - A North Judson man was killed Wednesday night after being struck by a semi.
According to an Indiana State Police report, at approximately 9:42 p.m., a semi, driven by a 42-year-old man from Hammond, stated he had hit an unknown object on I-80/94 west bound at Ripley Street. Troopers located a white male on the inner shoulder in dark clothing.
The man 35-year-old Nicholas Ryan Webb was pronounced dead at the scene. He did of massive blunt force trauma, according tot the Lake County Coroner.
The semi-truck was a 2003 Freightliner owned by Arellano Trucking Incorporated out of Gary. It was loaded with two steel coils.
No disabled vehicle was located in the area that belonged to Webb and it is not know at this time why Webb was walking on the interstate or where he was going.
The middle, left and inner shoulder were closed for some time to reconstruction of the crash, removal of the deceased and investigation.
