(INDIANAPOLIS) - There’s a new baby at the Indianapolis Zoo.
The zoo's 23-year-old Sumatran orangutan, Sirih, gave birth to the baby just after 5 p.m. Wednesday. The zoo did not release the gender of the baby, but said mom and baby are both healthy.
The pair is now spending time bonding.
The zoo, in partnership with Indianapolis Power and Light, lite the utility's Monument Circle office building in orange Thursday morning to commemorate the birth.
