(MT. VERNON) - The public can hear about changes to Hovey Lake Fish & Wildlife Area and about waterfowl migration during a public meeting on March 29.
The meeting is 6 to 8 p.m. CDT at the Hovey House, 330 Walnut St., in Mt. Vernon.
Hovey Lake is a 7,400-acre property with a large oxbow lake, sloughs, marshes and bottomland forest in extreme southwestern Indiana.
The fish & wildlife area is planning to build two new marshes and restore other existing marshes. It also plans to move its property office.
DNR waterfowl biologist Adam Phelps will discuss waterfowl migration, and Mike Sertle, a regional biologist with Ducks Unlimited, will be there to discuss that organization's projects in Indiana.
