Reward Offered Following Hit-And-Run Accident In Jasper

Last updated on Friday, March 11, 2016

(JASPER) - The Jasper Police Department is asking for the public’s help and a reward is being offered as officers seek a hit-and-run driver from a three-vehicle accident that occurred Wednesday afternoon.

Bill Powell of the Dubois County Herald reports, 51-year-old Angela F. Loveland of Petersburg was northbound on U.S. 231 in a 2000 Ford Explorer Sport Trac when the 3:41 p.m. accident occurred at Pleasant View Drive, according to the Jasper Police Department.

Police say Loveland's SUV was rear-ended by a tan Ford minivan. The collision sent Loveland's SUV into the rear of a 2015 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by 31-year-old Michael A. Bruner of Paoli.

Loveland and Bruner pulled off the roadway but the tan Ford minivan, which was possibly an early 2000s model, did not stop. It continued northbound on U.S. 231.

The tan Ford had an In God We Trust license plate but its numerics are unknown. The vehicle should have front-end damage and police said that damage could be extensive.

Loveland complained of minor neck pain after the accident but declined to be transported from the scene by ambulance.

Police ask that anyone with information on the vehicle or driver who left the scene call Jasper police at (812)482-2255 or the department's anonymous tip line: 481-COPS (2677). Callers may remain anonymous, police said.

The Community Strike Force Fund is offering a $500 reward for information leading to an arrest of the person or people involved.
