Scott Co. Sheriff Releases Names Of Shooting Victims

(LEXINGTON) - The Scott County sheriff has released the names of two people found shot to death Monday evening in Lexington.

Sheriff Dan McClain said that 51-year-old Jessie W. Bowling and 46-year-old Michelle Brewer were shot multiple times.

The sheriff said the two were acquaintances and Bowling had been staying with Brewer.

Police were called to a home in the 10000 block of East Highway 356 Monday night.

According to police, authorities received a call concerning two unresponsive people.

A neighbor said he heard gunshots on Sunday night, but didn't think anything of it.

McClain said a family member found the two slain.

"We suspect they had been deceased for several hours when they were discovered," McClain said.

The sheriff said they have good leads in the case and have done about a half dozen interviews.

"We are looking into motives at this point about why these two would be targeted," McClain said.
