(OTWELL) - Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating an ATV accident that sent a teenager to the hospital.
Police say 14-year-old Kayla Wheat was riding an ATV operated by 14-year-old Jade Bartley also of Otwell, when the ATV rolled and landed on Kayla.
The accident happened around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday on private property along West Portersville Road.
Witnesses told police that while going down a hill a tire on the ATV got caught on a tree root causing the ATV to overturn.
The ATV was able to be pushed off the teen.
Wheat complained of leg pain. None of the injures were life threatening and both teens were wearing helmets.
Responding agencies included the Ireland Fire Department, Memorial Ambulance Service, first responders and Indiana Conservation Officers.
