(INDIANAPOLIS) - The popular TV show “American Ninja Warrior” is coming to downtown Indianapolis and you can be part of the audience.
Indianapolis is one of six cities chosen for the eighth season of the show, which pits "ninja warriors" against one another for the fastest time on intense obstacle courses.
Crews started setting up the courses at Monument Circle April 20. They're expected to finish the setup Monday and film Wednesday and Thursday. About 130 contestants will run through the course during the two-day shoot. Producers prefer a dark backdrop, so they will shoot overnight from 9 p.m. until as late as 5 a.m.
The show is inviting local nonprofits to be part of the audience, Chris Gahl, the vice president of marketing and communications for VisitIndy, told the Indy Star.
The show will make a donation to each participating nonprofit with a minimum of 20 people in a group. The show will make room for as many nonprofits as possible, but space is limited. If your nonprofit is interested, contact groupbooking@ocatv.com.
If you're not involved in a nonprofit and want to be part of the audience, you can apply for tickets here.
The show will break down the set and leave the city by April 29. The episode will air in June.
