(INDIANAPOLIS) - Former Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard says he’s withdrawing from consideration to become the new president of Ivy Tech Community College.
Ballard says he interviewed for the position, which is also being sought by former Lt. Gov. Sue Ellspermann.
Ballard spokesman Robert Vane tells The Indianapolis Star and the Indianapolis Business Journal that Ballard is pursuing several other opportunities. Ballard is a Republican who didn't seek re-election in 2015 after eight years as mayor.
Ivy Tech says it received more than 30 applications to replace retiring president Tom Snyder. College officials have declined to release a list of candidates, but have said a selection is expected by the end of April.
