(UNDATED) - Stamps will move from 49 cents to 47 cents.
The last time there was a decrease in the price of postage was in 1919, when it dropped from three cents to two cents.
The change began on Sunday. The postal service doesn't want the decrease, but it doesn't have a choice. It's regulator is ordering it.
Commercial and other postage rates also are declining. The postal service will lose $2 billion annually due to the decrease.
