(JEFFERSONVILLE) - Congressman Todd Young (R-IN) is pleased to announce the top high school competitors from Indiana’s 9th District in the 2016 Congressional Art Competition.
The piece by this year's 1st place winner, Maya Calilung of New Albany High School, will be hung in the United States Capitol for millions of visitors to see over the course of the next year. She will receive two tickets to fly to Washington, D.C. and attend a reception honoring winners from Congressional Districts across the country.
This year, 46 pieces of art were submitted from high school students across the 9th District. All of the artwork can be viewed on Young's official Facebook page. Professional judges chose the following winners in both a non-photography and photography category:
