(UNDATED) - Pacific Cycle launched a recall of thousands of bike helmets for infants.
The company said the magnetic buckle on the helmet's chin strap contains small plastic covers and magnets that could come loose, posing the risk of choking on them or ingesting them.
The infant bicycle helmets with magnetic no-pinch buckle chin straps were sold exclusively at Target stores and Target.com from January 2014 through April 2016. The company has received three reports of the plastic cover coming loose, although no injuries have been reported. The recall includes about 129,000 helmets.
The helmets are made for children 1 to 3 years old and comes in various colors and pattern designs. "SCHWINN" is printed on the front . Only helmets with the magnetic no-pinch chin strap buckles are included in the recall.
Customers who have bought the helmet should keep it away from children and contact Pacific Cycle to learn how to get a replacement.
You can reach the company toll-free at 877-564-2261 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CST Monday through Friday, through email at customerservice@pacific-cycle.com or online at schwinnbikes.com or target.com.
