(ELBERFELD) - Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating an ATV accident that resulted in the hospitalization of a Vanderburgh County Teenager.
Police say 16-year-old Morgan Cole of Evansville suffered leg and facial injuries after the ATV he was a passenger on overturned. He was transported to St. Mary's Hospital in Evansville by ambulance.
The operator of the ATV, 16-year-old Patricia Teas of Evansville, was turning from a driveway onto a dirt trail when the accident occurred. Teas was not injured in the accident.
The accident occurred on private property off of Schultz Road in Elberfeld around 2:30 p.m. eastern time on Saturday. Excessive speed is believed to have been a contributing factor.
Responding agencies included the Warrick County Sheriffs Department, Elberfeld Fire Department, Warrick County EMS and Indiana Conservation Officers.
Neither subject was wearing ATV protective gear.
