(JASPER) - Jasper police say a homeless man was arrested late Saturday night after he got into a fight with another man over a kitten.
News For Dubois County reports that 35-year old Jason Basham was arrested on charges of battery causing bodily injury and disorderly conduct.
Jasper police say when they arrived at a mobile home in the 3800 block of North Portersville Road, they learned that Basham got into both a verbal and then a physical confrontation with the second man. J
Police say the altercation apparently was about Basham's kitten.
During the altercation Basham allegedly punched the second man in the eye and bloodied his nose. .
Basham was taken to Memorial Hospital where he was cleared medically. Basham's claim of "entire body pain" was unfounded according to police.
Basham is charged with Battery with Bodily Injury (A misdemeanor) and Disorderly Conduct (B misdemeanor).
