(JENNING CO.) - The Jennings County Sheriff’s Department continues to investigate two reports of area churches that someone has broken into over the past week.
The first incident was reported May 28 at Bear Creek Baptist Church at 3945 W. County Road 1000N, according to a news release from Detective Jeff Jones. Assisted listening earphones were taken during that incident.
The second report, received May 29, indicated someone had broken into Graham Baptist Church at 2645 S. County Road 600E. Doors were damaged by those breaking into the church, but nothing was reported stolen.
Sheriff Gary Driver asked the public to be aware of suspicious vehicles or people at local churches after hours. He said they may call dispatch at (812) 346-4911 or 911 to report the suspicious activity.
