(MENTOR) - A Birdseye man suffered serious injuries after his motorcycle struck a deer south of Mentor Friday afternoon.
According to a Dubois County Sheriff's Department report, 62-year Richard Dooley was northbound on Mentor Road about a quarter mile south of Indiana 64 when his motorcycle struck a deer nearly head-on. Dooley was thrown from the motorcycle.
Dooley suffered a head injury, several broken bones and road rash. He was taken by ambulance to Memorial Hospital in Jasper and then flown to an Evansville hospital.
