(DALEVILLE) - A central Indiana couple whose home was found to have more than 100 cats living inside face child neglect charges.
51-year-old Steven M. Wood and his 47-year-old wife, Angela R. Lock-Wood, were charged after authorities found 111 cats in their Daleville home.
Delaware County Chief Deputy Prosecutor Judi Calhoun says the neglect charges stem from the home's living conditions for a child in the Woods' care.
The Muncie Star Press reports that child was placed with child-welfare service on August 9, after officials learned that the house was filled with cats.
Authorities had been called to the house the same day after a 75-year-old woman died there of what were believed to be natural causes.
The Woods face an August 29 court hearing on the charges.
