(FORT WAYNE) - An arrest has been made in a shooting at the Texas Roadhouse restaurant on Washington Center Road late Sunday that left one person dead and another critically hurt.
29-year-old Andrew Cassady has been arrested and preliminary charged with aggravated battery and unlawful possession of a firearm, hours after a double shooting at the popular steakhouse around 9:30 p.m. Sunday.
Police were called to the restaurant 710 W. Washington Center Road on a report of a shooting there. Investigators told NewsChannel 15 the a fight at the restaurant between rival groups spilled into the parking lot. At that point, someone opened fire and a person was shot.
The victim of that shooting was put into a car and was being driven through the parking lot when someone in the car shot at the rival group from inside the vehicle. A person in that group was struck and was killed, just outside the door of the restaurant, police said.
The first victim made it to the hospital and was listed in critical condition.
Several people were taken into police custody and were interviewed by officers after the shooting.
The Texas Roadhouse shooting happened just minutes before another shooting down the road in the 1900 block of River Run Trail, in the Woodbridge Apartments complex.
