(WEST LAFAYETTE) - Purdue University Police say a rape at a campus fraternity house earlier this year has been reported, but they’re not investigating it.
A warning on Purdue's website says the rape occurred Jan. 23 at Pi Kappa Phi fraternity. It was reported Monday by a "campus security authority," such as a dean, coach or adviser.
Capt. Eric Chin said campus police don't investigate such incidents because they're not reported directly to police. He tells The (Lafayette) Journal & Courier the reports are more "for statistical measures."
Fraternity chapter president Ambrose Haas told The Associated Press he was aware of media reports on the rape but the chapter hasn't received any information on it from police or the university. He said he had no comment on the report.
