(BARTHOLOMEW CO.) - Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating a hunting accident that occurred Thursday on private property in Bartholomew County.
63-year-old Rudolph Zeigler of Columbus was dove hunting with friends and was drawing up his gun to shoot at incoming birds, when he accidentally pulled the trigger too soon, shooting himself in the right foot.
Zeigler was transported by personal vehicle to Columbus Regional Hospital.
At this time no charges are being filed against Zeigler.
The case is being investigated by Indiana Conservation Officer Jay Noble. He was assisted by Columbus Police Department.
