(FORTVILLE) - A teacher and coach at Eastern Hancock Community Schools was arrested Friday night on an OWI charge.
Officers spotted 47-year-old Sharon Doud driving erratically on S. Maple Street around 11 p.m., according to a police report. During the stop, Doud identified herself as a teacher at Eastern Hancock as well as the girls varsity basketball coach. Police say she admitted she'd been drinking at a concert.
She agreed to do a field sobriety test and blew a .217, almost three times the legal limit. She was arrested on an initial charge of Operating While Intoxicated.
The officers who pulled Doud over were working Operation Pull Over at the time - a state-funded grant for officers to look for impaired drivers.
