(VINCENNES) - Dr. Zhe Ji has been appointed as the director of International Student Affairs at Vincennes University, according to Dr. Richard Walker, associate dean of Students.
"Dr. Ji has the background, knowledge, and vision to lead the development of the Office of International Students Affairs here at VU," Walker said.
Ji comes to VU after serving as a teaching, research, and graduate assistant for the past four years at the School of Education at Duquesne University where he earned both doctoral and master's degrees in Education Leadership. He also holds a bachelor's degree in Business Management from Marshall University.
Ji served as Duquesne University Cultural Ambassador for two years, representing the university and the Pittsburgh community to prospective and current international students. His responsibilities included orientation, mentorship, and planning international student events. From 2009 to 2013 Ji served as the overseas advisor for the Governmental Charity Federation of Luanchuan County in China, where he supervised international student admissions and recruitment activities, immigration advisement operations, and study abroad development.
"All of my higher educational journey, from bachelor's degree to doctorate, has been accomplished in the United States, where I found the university learning environment and friendly atmosphere made me feel like part of a family, even as a first-generation college student and a single child. I found I was not alone! All my colleagues and friends taught and helped me so much in the past few years. Now, it is the time for me to try my best to serve the students at Vincennes University," Ji said.
