(MUNCIE) - About 1,000 students are scheduled to attend when the Indiana Supreme Court holds oral arguments at Ball State University later this month.
The state high court plans to hear arguments October 27 in a civil negligence case, Tresa Megenity v. David Dunn. The court usually hears about 70 cases at the State House in Indianapolis every year. But occasionally justices scheduled arguments elsewhere to let people in other parts of the state see how the court works.
The court says the hundreds of students invited to hear the 40-minute arguments come from Ball State along with local high schools.
The arguments are open to the media and public as well. Seating in Ball State's Emens Auditorium is on a first-come, first-serve basis.
