(INDIANAPOLIS) - Indiana will kickoff National Adoption Month on Thursday, November 3 at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis.
This will be the first of more than 25 adoption celebrations statewide to support and raise awareness of adoption programs for children and older youth in foster care in Indiana.
Kickoff Celebration, November 3
The National Adoption Month kickoff will begin with a private reception for foster/adoptive families at The Children's Museum of Indianapolis. The reception will begin at 3:00pm and will include a short video about the adoption journey of an Indiana family as well as remarks from the Department of Child Services (DCS) Deputy Director of Permanency & Practice Support, Reba James, and the President and CEO of Children's Bureau, Inc., Tina Cloer.
After the private reception, families are encouraged to enjoy the public reception with free admission to The Children's Museum of Indianapolis from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. The Indiana Adoption Program booth will have giveaways for adoptive families while supplies last.

More than 25 Adoption Month Celebrations
Throughout November, DCS Indiana Adoption Program in partnership with the Children's Bureau, county courts, and other community organizations, will host more than 25 National Adoption Month celebrations throughout the state. These celebrations will honor Hoosier adoptive families, and provide information to others on how they can take the first steps toward becoming foster and/or adoptive parents.
