(MUNCIE) - A count of sexual misconduct with a minor pending against a Muncie pastor has been dismissed.
The case against 60-year-old Matthew Kidd of Freedom Point Apostolic Church started nearly eight years ago. He was accused of sexually abusing three teenage brothers who attended his church. The (Muncie) Star-Press reports prosecutors Monday filed a motion to drop a remaining felony charge, saying the alleged victim no longer wanted to testify.
Kidd went to trial in 2012, when was found not guilty of one charge but jurors couldn't reach verdicts on two other counts. Last May prosecutors dropped another of the remaining two charges against Kidd. The case then went to trial that same month for a second time but proceedings ended when a witness wasn't available due to health problems.
