(CHICAGO) - An Indianapolis man shot by police in Chicago is dead.
Officials say on Saturday, Joshua Beal got into an altercation with an off-duty firefighter and an off-duty police officer after being told he was illegally blocking the fire lane in front of a fire house.
Officials say shots were fired at Beal when a uniformed police sergeant, who was on his way to work, noticed he had a weapon and refused to drop it.
Beal was in Chicago for a funeral.
