(JOHNSON CO.) - The Indiana Department of Transportation plans to close the southbound Interstate 65 exit ramp to State Road 44 in Johnson County during daytime hours today.
INDOT says that their contractor will install a drainage pipe section, weather permitting, starting at 7 a.m. Restrictions at the Franklin exit should be lifted by 7 p.m. the same day. INDOT stresses that the on-ramp will remain open. Officials say that drivers heading south on I-65 may exit at Worthsville Road or Whiteland Road during Monday's closure at State Road 44.
INDOT explains that this work is part of the $84 million Major Moves 2020 project on I-65 between Main Street/Greenwood and State Road 44/Franklin. The project includes the addition of travel lanes, full depth pavement replacement and bridge work at Main Street, Whiteland Road, Hurricane Creek and State Road 44.
