(LaGRANGE CO.) - Indiana State Troopers from the Toll Road Post are on scene of a fiery crash in LaGrange County that happened shortly after 1 p.m. Monday.
The crash involved three eastbound semi tractor-trailers near the 112.6 mile.
Preliminary investigation by troopers on scene has shown that a single semi tractor-trailer was stopped on the outer shoulder attending to a problem with his truck when his trailer was struck by another eastbound semi tractor-tanker. The semi tanker then collided with another eastbound semi tractor-trailer forcing both trucks into the center median.
The semi tanker caught fire after the collision and the crash caused both east and west bound lanes of the Toll Road to come to a standstill in the area.
The driver of the semi tractor-tanker was pronounced dead at the scene. Another driver involved in the crash was taken to a local hospital for his injuries.
More information will be released as it becomes available.
